“Analysing the movement of human body and nature, of the physical actions on their economical form, it’s at the base of the work at the school”

The Escuela Internacional Pablo Ibarluzea International School organices the Masterclass “The 20 Movements of Jacques Lecoq within the devising Theatre” with Norman Taylor, one of the biggest exponents of Lecoq’s pedagogy in the world. The students will have the chance of discovering the sequence of the 20 Movements created by Lecoq and its application to the creation of characters and the game on stage.

Undulation, blooming, reverse undulation, 9 attitudes, the wall, ice skating… This sequence is, no doubt, one of the foundation pillars of Lecoq’s pedagogical approach for the Actor-Creator. It contains all the directions and efforts that are found at the base of Movement and has huge benefits for the actor: Sensibility, quality of Movement, body awareness, expressivity, breathing control, precision…

The workshop will be held by Norman Taylor, who taught Analysis of Movement, Movement technique and Improvisation at the École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq (Paris) for over 20 years with Lecoq himself.

For the last 20 years he has been working as a freelance teacher, giving workshops in more than 30 countries over the world and is considered as one of the greatest exponents of Lecoq’s pedagogy.
